What Astrotempo provides

Astrotempo offers free calculations, 3D views, tables and articles about the night sky: the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars, darkness times and sky events. The information is provided for general information, planning and education.

Accuracy and limitations

The calculations are made carefully and tested against NASA JPL Horizons, the US Naval Observatory and NASA’s eclipse tables, but they are based on models and assumptions, such as a flat sea-level horizon, standard atmospheric refraction and, for comets and asteroids, orbital elements that age between updates. Real conditions such as weather, haze, light pollution and the local horizon can differ. Astrotempo is not intended for navigation, aviation, safety-critical, legal or financial decisions. Never look at the Sun without proper eye protection. For such purposes, use official sources and qualified professionals.

No warranty

The website and its content are provided “as is”, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness or availability. The website may be changed, interrupted or discontinued at any time.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from the use of the website or from reliance on its information. This does not limit liability for intent or gross negligence, or liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Content and rights

Texts, graphics, the design and the software of Astrotempo are protected by copyright. You may link to any page and share results, including screenshots of your own results, for non-commercial purposes with a reference to Astrotempo. Other use requires permission.

Star catalogues, images, place names and other third-party data are subject to their own licences, listed on the data sources page.

External links and ads

Astrotempo links to external websites and shows ads provided by Google. The operator has no control over their content and is not responsible for it.

Changes and applicable law

These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version is always published here. Slovenian law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
